Terms

Beta terms

Last updated: 8 October 2026

These terms apply to the AskTheMove waitlist and, once you are invited, to the AskTheMove beta. AskTheMove is run by Prax, an independent developer in India. Questions go to [email protected].

The beta is unfinished

AskTheMove is pre-release software. Features may change, break, move or disappear, and the beta may pause or end at any time. Joining the waitlist does not guarantee an invite.

Chess analysis is an estimate

Engine scores are estimates at a stated search depth, and a line shown on the board is an example, not a guaranteed outcome. Explanations are written to help you learn. Check anything important for yourself.

Fair use

  • Use AskTheMove only on finished games, positions you set up, and practice games against its own computer opponents. Do not use it for help during a live game against another person.
  • Do not try to break, overload or reverse-engineer the service, or sign up other people without their permission.

No warranty

The beta is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, AskTheMove is not liable for losses arising from using or being unable to use the beta.

Price

The beta is free. If AskTheMove later becomes a paid product, you will be told the price before anything is charged, and you will only pay if you choose to.
